The beginning
A friend. A video. A first cube.
Tommy Cherry’s cubing journey began in 2015, when his friend Jonathan made a video showing him how to solve a 2×2 Rubik’s Cube. Neither of them could have known it at the time, but that simple gesture would spark a passion that would change the trajectory of Tommy’s life.
Since learning to solve his first cube, cubing has become far more than a hobby. It has given Tommy a constant avenue for self-improvement, a healthy and rewarding way to spend his time, and a community filled with creative, talented, and inspiring people. It has also taken him around the world through competitions and other opportunities—from North America to Europe, and even all the way to Asia.
The journey
Passion, taken further.
Along the way, that passion has taken Tommy to the highest levels of competitive cubing. He has earned two World Championship titles and set 16 world records, becoming one of the sport’s most accomplished competitors. But the achievements are only one part of what cubing has given him—and what he hopes to pass on to others.

Tommy and Jonathan’s story is a reminder that one person sharing something they love can have an unexpectedly profound impact on someone else. For the right person, cubing can be that gateway: a source of confidence, curiosity, friendship, achievement, and lifelong passion.
That idea is at the heart of Tommy Cherry Coaching Company. Tommy founded the company to pass forward the same spark that once inspired him—to help create the next generation of cubers and share the joy of cubing with everyone from curious beginners to aspiring world-class competitors.
